God Doesn’t Need Our Talents

Feb 02

When I studied at school I wanted to become a teacher when I grew up. At home I always played  school: I was a teacher and my toys were my students:-) Well, sometimes dreams don’t come true in the ‘normal’ way but you find them realized in a little bit different way… not worse one but just different.

About twice a week I give music lessons to the teens from the club: a piano lesson, a guitar lesson or a vocal lesson. It’s free and open for everyone who wants to learn. Now I know the teachers are happy when the students are interested in subject and learn fast:-) .  I’m happy to see how fast my students get the music grammar. I love them so much! :-) I believe that my lessons will give them an even bigger desire to learn more. And I believe that they will grow deeper in their hearts and souls, closer to God, through music that comes from Him. (On the picture you see one of my students, Klaudia. I believe one day we will get a good real big keyboard for the club, when God gives us an opportunity.)

Also I want to encourage you, my friends. Please find a way to share with others what you have: knowledge, talents, advices, encouragement, time… There are always those you can share with. More than once we’ve heard sermons about putting our talents in Jesus’ hands and then He will multiply them and satisfy the needs of many. But didn’t Jesus give us an example of what we should do on this earth? His example teaches us to take what we have and not use it only for our needs but to thank our Heavenly Father for it (because it comes from Him) and share it with others for free. And on the way, it will be multiplied and everyone will be satisfied. Each of us has so many to share with. God doesn’t need our talents. He gave them to us and He’s expecting us to be thankful for them and to multiply them through sharing with others.

I don’t talk about wasting our time. I don’t talk about sharing gossips or watching empty worldly movies. I’m talking about productive things because God created us as producers. For example, if you know how to make teddy toys and you have some free time once or twice a week. Instead of watching empty soap operas why not invite a few kids from the neighborhood for tea and teach them how to make the teddy toys (if they will be interested of course :-) ). What if they will like it and start to make the toys and sell them to help with a family budget because their parents maybe close to being fired at the moment in this crises time! If you play guitar why not teach someone else to play? What if that guy that you teach will write a song that will bring people to Jesus? If you baked a cake why not go to share it with your neighbor and share the Gospel? And there are so many different ideas about sharing. Do it with thankfulness to God and with the right motivation, and you will see lots of good fruit and results. You will feel happy and blessed by God.

  1. A desire looks for the opportunity and a lazyness searches for the excuse.
