Better To Give Than To Receive

Dec 28

Time goes so fast, especially in this nice Christmas-New Years-Sylvester season… I have just realized I didn’t write any post for the last week. Now I will ask my memory to help me to mention the brightest things to share with you.

Few days before Christmas we were buying and wrapping gifts for the oldest kids from the children’s club, and for neighbors and our friends. While wrapping I enjoyed those moments and felt such a great joy of giving. As the precious Bible says, that it’s better to give than to receive. “In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” (Ac.20:35)

Last Thursday we knocked on our neighbors door and talked to her for the first time. It was an older woman, she was happy to receive our little Christmas gift, but she wasn’t ready to accept us this time, she didn’t wait for guests, and we understood her. We hope to talk to her later some day.

On Christmas Eve and the next day we visited three very nice and kind families in three different cities. It was a really nice time. We’ve known them for only 9 months but they are like relatives for us. Now we have polish parents, sisters and brothers :-) Only God could do that. And we thank Him for all our friends and the church here!:-)

On Sunday I sang a Ukrainian Christmas song in the church, they were so happy to hear a Ukrainian song and they said their hearts were touched by God through it! People here like Ukraine so much!:-) They also encouraged me to sing with the worship team, so I will try to do that in January. And Nate started to help them with the sound ministry. So, more involving in the church ministries :-)
